Introducing Bella
Bella has a cavoodle mother and bordelier father. This makes her 50% Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and 25% poodle and 25% border colly. She has several close dog friends she sees most days in the park at the end of the street. She will chase an occasional water hen if she gets the chance, otherwise she is into chasing and wrestling with her dog friends.
She is a small, very calm dog who was born on 22.7.2024 in a beautiful country region of New South Wales called Kingsvale. Bella came to Perth in February 2025 and quickly became a great therapy dog, due to her calm and gentle nature. At 7 months of age Bella started sitting in with clients, she has her own “therapist “ chair and will greet clients at the door. She is happy to be patted and often will sit next to a distressed client or at their feet, sometimes she has does her dog yoga on the floor, but mostly she lays calmly on her chair and is a safe place for clients to rest their eyes on when therapy can feel a bit much for them.
Bella asks nothing of clients (other than an occasional pat if you are up for it), and freely gives you her love and cuteness for you to enjoy and feel calmly connected to.
Information about Bella, the therapy dog in Perth Counselling and Psychotherapy.
On arrival
You will be met by Deborah and Bella will be seated on the floor away from the front door.
When you arrive you are asked to not greet Bella until you are in the consultation room. This informs Bella that Deborah is in charge and she can relax and not have to do anything at the first contact.
Once you are in the consultation room, if you are happy for Bella to approach you, let Deborah know and she will allow Bella to come over and sniff and greet you.
After the initial greeting, Bella may choose to sit near you, or she may opt to sit on her own “Therapist” chair.
Bella likes to be patted on her back and under her chin, she responds to her name and is happy for you to look at her as much as you want in the session.
