ACCREDITED GESTALT PSYCHOTHERAPIST (GTIWA)
Jane is a practitioner with 40 years’ experience. Over her years, she has worked in the Govt and Non Govt sectors and is now solely in Private Practice.
Jane’s passion for therapy stems from her belief, that as human beings we have an immense capacity to change and to heal, no matter how bad our history, nor how difficult our current circumstance.
As an experienced Mental Health expert, Jane is accustomed to working with all diagnoses and disorders. She is particularly adept at dealing with trauma and its many presentations.
Jane is a highly qualified relationship and experienced couple’s therapist, having training in Family Therapy, the Gottman Couples Therapy method, and The Resnick’s Connection model (Gestalt Associates Los Angeles)
In recent times, she has developed a keen interest for working with people who are navigating the often difficult and complex Family Court process. Originally working as a Single expert witness, these days Jane predominantly provides support and advice to both clients and at times their lawyers. When appropriate, she is available to provide reports for Family Court purposes.
In addition to her therapeutic work, Jane provides professional supervision to all professions working in the Allied health professions and the Mental Health field.
Jane’s approach is warm, heartfelt and sincere. She encourages her clients to expand their self-acceptance and authenticity as she believes these are the cornerstones of a contented life. Jane has utmost respect for her clients timing, pace and capacity, whilst also being willing to challenge old patterns and rigid ways of behaving. She also enjoys using stories, anecdotes and humour to support the therapeutic process.
